Welcome to Sweden

We are now five metric miles into Sweden, in the lovely town of Åre, enjoying a hearty breakfast. As I'm writing, a man in a unicycle is cycling past the window. It's seven in the morning.

Our first day of cycling was pretty uneventful. The main excitement was cycling from Hell to Valhall. There were lots of ups and downs, then one long up leading up to the Swedish border.

We stopped to have hot dogs at a petrol station and were clever enough to ask.for directions to the nearest hostel. We then proceeded to cycle way past it and had to spend the night in the woods, surrounded by clouds of mosquitos.

Four hours sleep later Geir woke me up. It was time to get back on our bikes.

From where we are now we've got another five miles to go until we can have another four hour nap, and about ten miles until we can think of calling it a day. Geir is insisting that we find a hostel or camping site to sleep in tonight. I don't think he liked the mosquitos.
