The big day is finally here. I'm incredibly nervous, but all our support crew assures me that it'll go just fine. For safety we've acquired a tracking system that checks our position using GPS and sends a blip every twenty minutes to a satelite. The tracking thingy can also be used as an SOS if we're being mauled by bears deep in the Swedish woods. I've embedded the tracking system in this post so that anyone who wants can follow our progress. It helps my nerves knowing that if I perish, at least someone will know about it.
The first day probably won't be very exciting to monitor, as we'll only be cycling to the swedish border and spending the night there. From then on it might get a bit more interesting to see which route we'll be taking through Sweden and Finland, how many miles we can put behind us each day et cetera. One of the days in Sweden Geir has planned for us to cross a river which, according to the map, doesn't have a bridge or a ford. His plan is that, if all else fails, we'll just swim across...
... so about that tracking system, in case I die:
I'll also include the link, in case someone wants to spread it around. Better safe than sorry.

We start cycling from Trondheim at 13:00 today and reckon we'll use ten hours for the first leg of the journey. So at 23:00 tonight I'll be crawling into my wind-bag on the softest patch of moss I can find, thoroughly exhausted and demoralized.
I'm a bit uncertain about how often we'll be able to update this blog underways. It'll depend on the internett conditions where we are and a few other factors, such as whether or not I want to spend my rest time sleeping or writing. I'll definitely take as many pictures as possible and upload them whenever I can.
See you all in two weeks!
