Oh, what a night! The 4 hours are finally gone, and I'mhappy to be on my feet again. Adrian is still snoring inside his mosquito cabinet. How is that possible? I can see thos small creatures crawling all over the inside of is mosquito net... Both of us have fed half the local population of tiny devils. I suppose they can no longer fly, but are so fat they have to walk on the ground.
Today we are aiming for Boden. We will probably not make it, but we will try our best. The wind seems to pick up (according to the forecast). Coming from a northerly direction, that is not good news... However, so far no forecast has been correct, so we probably should stop looking at them. Any way: Better get on the road the sooner the better!
So far we have not seen any of those dangerous animals everyone warned us about. Not a single predator has shown up! We saw a moose yesterday, and the first night (at Storlien) we heard something in the bushes. Probably a moose as well, but too dark to see.
Now we have complete silence, except for the singing of the mosquitos... No wind, no traffic, only the pale blue sky, thin pine trees and the blueberry fields on the ground - and Adrian, still asleep. That is going to change pretty soon!!!
We will now have two biscuits for breakfast. To get them down we need some delicious dull Pepsi from the bottle we opened yesterday at noon... We are not spoiled by fancy eating and drinking. BUT: We have the wild blueberries and the cloud berries. If we are lucky, we find an open gas station selling fresh milk. A glass of ice cold milk would be fantastic right now.
Have to go and wake up the birds now, it's so quiet here. Then there is Adrian...
So long
Old Man
